IN FOCUS - Oct. 23, 2026
Arizona is home to three of the most pivotal U.S. House races in the country - two that were expected and one that has emerged as a wildcard in determining control of Congress.
CD-6 in southern Arizona is always a dog fight, and 2026 is no different. GOP Congressman Juan Ciscomani has his hands full in trying to hold off Democratic challenger JoAnna Mendoza. The Northeast Valley’s CD-1 is an open seat considered a coin flip contest between Republican Jay Feely and Democrat Amish Shah.
The competitive race that has surprised many observers is rural CD-2, where Republican Congressman Eli Crane faces Democrat Jonathan Nez. President Trump won the district by 15 percentage points in 2024, but the race in recent weeks has attracted millions of dollars in outside spending as both parties view the seat as in play.
