IN FOCUS - Oct. 16, 2026
With just 18 days before the election, new Q3 fundraising reports provide a final glimpse at what resources candidates have for the final stretch.
The numbers below reflect campaign fundraising and spending through Sept. 30.
Key takeaways include:
Governor Katie Hobbs and Congressman Andy Biggs had roughly the same amount of money in the bank going into October. The incumbent relinquishing her financial advantage as voting began underscores her campaign memo last week that urged outside reinforcements.
Down-ballot offices reflect a similar phenomena, as the Secretary of State, Superintendent of Public Instruction and Treasurer races all show the candidates on equal footing (side note: expect self-funded GOP Treasurer candidate Elijah Norton to keep his campaign financially competitive).
The only outlier down-ballot is the AG’s race. Incumbent Attorney General Kris Mayes, a Democrat, enjoys a roughly 4-to-1 cash advantage over GOP challenger Warren Petersen.
