About Jason

Jason Barraza is an Arizona government relations and public affairs professional with extensive experience in political strategy, advocacy, campaigns, and public policy. He is a Partner at Veridus, a lobbying, public affairs, communications, procurement, and strategic business consulting firm, where he represents corporate and nonprofit clients and helps develop political advocacy strategies incorporating campaigns, polling, and community outreach.

A frequent commentator on Arizona politics and public policy, Jason regularly appears on Arizona PBS’s Arizona Horizon and Horizonte, as well as KJZZ’s The Show as a panelist on NewsCap.

​

Prior to joining Veridus in 2009, Jason worked with the Arizona Democratic Party’s coordinated campaign during the 2002, 2006, and 2008 election cycles. He also provided on-site logistics and security support at six Democratic National Conventions between 2000 and 2024.

​

Jason earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and his law degree from the James E. Rogers College of Law at the University of Arizona.

Jason has a longstanding record of civic and professional involvement. In 2017, Governor Doug Ducey appointed him to the Maricopa County Trial Court Appointments Commission. He currently serves on the City of Phoenix’s North Mountain Village Planning Committee and previously served as President of Los Abogados, the Arizona Hispanic Bar Association, and is a past Chair of Leading for Change, a non-partisan political leadership training organization.

In 2016, the Hispanic National Bar Association recognized Jason as one of the nation’s top Hispanic attorneys under 40. He was also selected for inclusion in the 2027 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for his work in Government Relations.
